Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Modern Philosophy
The Philosophy Faculty at Université Laval invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Modern Philosophy. The key authors targeted by this job search are, notably: Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, and Locke. Additional competencies in Enlightenment/Lumières/Aufklärung Thought and English Empiricism will be considered an asset.
Description of the position
The candidate selected to fill this post will teach full-time in our undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas mentioned above. The candidate will be expected to contribute to scholarly research in Modern Philosophy through their publications, as well as to supervise graduate student research in this area. She or he will also be expected to participate in academic and administrative activities.*

Required Qualifications
A PhD in Philosophy or equivalent, completed prior to the expected start date. A strong foundation in 17th-Century European Philosophy and its major figures. Additional competencies in 18th-Century Philosophy. A demonstrated ability to perform independent and original research in the area of focus, with an orientation toward internationally recognized publication venues. Teaching experience. A relevant publication record.
